Comments:
The village of Maple Park reported that they only allow beekeeping on agricultural land. They do have a residential estate zoning classification that allows agricultural pursuits but the types of agricultural pursuits are not defined. The villages home occupation regulations do not allow for a beekeeping business on residential property. Because of size of the land required to be zoned agricultural (15 acres or more) and restrictions placed by the village, a sideliner sized business would be recommended to utilize the land required to have such an operation.
