DuPage County maintains that they are “bee friendly.” Due to the cost and availability of land, it is extremely difficult to have enough land to legally keep bees in unincorporated DuPage County. If the land can be found, DuPage county officials have reported that any size of operation (even sideliner or commercial) would be allowed and since it was agricultural in nature, they would not regulate it.
